Pursuant to a thorough rearrangement in companies that has taken place over the past few years, the Veldeman Group has been given a very flat structure. This makes very short and direct lines of communication possible, meaning the organisation can rapidly respond to any change or development in each of the markets in which it is present.
The Veldeman Group employs close on 400 people in five countries. Production staff working in Opglabbeek (Belgium) and Autun, Confolens and Eyrein (France) account for the bulk of the workforce.
The nineteen nineties saw an explosive growth in staff numbers, chiefly due to the hive-off of the bedding division in 1989.
The renewed focus on the core business – the development and production of high-quality mattresses and sleeping systems for a broad target group – brought a blast of fresh air to the organisation and gave it a more dynamic character.
